Project Description
This new build property was constructed on behalf of Glasgow City Council Social Works Services to provide a new 8 bedroom facility and is one of several being carried out as part of a city wide strategy.
The design of the new centre provided a large communal lounge, kitchen/dining, laundry room, quiet lounge, staff offices as well as 7 bedrooms each with ensuite showers. A wheelchair accessible wc and bedroom with ensuite shower was also provided. Finishes and materials were specified to a high quality standard to reinforce the residential character of the project and to reduce ongoing maintenance costs.
The project was designed to meet BREEAM “very good” rating and included solar photovoltaic roof panels for hot water, heat recovery ventilation, full BMS, underfloor heating, L1 fire alarm system and a sprinkler system.
CRGP provided Architectural, QS and CDM-C services to Glasgow City Council Development & Regeneration Services who acted as Project Manager. The works were completed by City Building (Glasgow) Ltd.
