Project Description
CRGP Surveyors provided Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Principal Designer roles for the reinstatement of the fire damaged Grade A listed property in heart of Inverness city centre for MacKays Stores, M&Co.
The catastrophic fire destroyed the internals and the roof over the property, which was then made safe and stripped back to an empty shell with only external walls remaining.
Careful stabilising and repair works were carried out to the remaining external walls, and a new steel frame installed internally carrying a mix of traditional and modern roof constructions and finishes.
New passenger lifts, environmentally friendly heating and lighting systems and increased insulation levels brought the property up to current standards and in keeping with M&Co’s green credentials.
3 office suites for rent, with common WC, kitchen and meeting room facilites have been formed on the upper floor with their own dedicated access from Strothers Lane.
